I am so excited to get to know you more. I bring my whole self to this work, which includes my fight for equity and justice. I am not a photographer who separates my beliefs and passions from photographing humans because I don’t believe they’re separate. I can't ask you to be vulnerable if I'm not willing to do the same.
What could be better than marrying your best friend and dancing the night away with all of the closest people in your life with the stunning ocean as your backdrop? This is exactly what you get with a Mount Hope Farm wedding.
This beautiful venue offers the New England outdoor wedding venue of your dreams. With beautiful trees, large green fields, and a stunning view overlooking the water, you couldn’t ask for anything better.
If you’re wondering what a Mount Hope Farm wedding actually looks like, let’s take a peek at Samantha and Paul’s perfect day here, as well as some of my favorite things about this venue!
Mount Hope Farm, located in Bristol, Rhode Island, is a beautiful 127-acre farm right on Mount Hope Bay. Not only is it a beautiful wedding venue, but there are also trails throughout that you can walk to explore the grounds, a year-round farmers market, and an inn on the property that you can stay at.
The farm offers a perfect combination of history with beautiful nature all around. When it comes to a Mount Hope Farm wedding, there is no question why it is seen as one of the top places to have your wedding in the area. Not only are the grounds stunning and give you the perfect backdrop for your special day, but they also work with you to transform the farm into your dream space.
When it comes to your ceremony and reception, there are two different options you can choose from: the Barn and Cove Cabin.
The Barn offers the dream, rustic farm vibes with touches of luxury to make the space feel like it was taken straight out of a fairytale. As one of the oldest buildings on the property, the Barn has a lot of history that can be felt. Twinkle lights strung across the ceiling create a magical feeling, and the barn doors open up to look out across the beautiful property.
The other option for your wedding is Cove Cabin (this is what Samantha and Paul opted for), and it is absolutely gorgeous. The cabin itself was built back in the 40s and looks out on the rocky coastline of the bay. It makes for an ideal spot for cocktail hour, and the light is always perfection!
Along with the cabin itself, you also get access to the lawn around it for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The lawn offers incredible views of the ocean and at the same time offers an intimate, cozy spot to tie the knot with your partner nestled among the trees.
There’s a permanent tent with a floor, so you don’t have to worry about a rain plan or soggy guests! They work to transform this white tent into your dream reception venue with string lights, plants, and anything else you can think of! You will also get stunning sunset views over the water to cap off a perfect day.
Now, if you are still not convinced that this is the place for you after all of that, Mount Hope Farm goes one step further with exclusive catering from Russell Morin Catering & Events. Together, you will work to create the perfect food and drink menu for your reception, and the rest will be taken care of.
Samantha and Paul met at Providence College and actually ended up going their separate ways before meeting again in Boston. They had a September wedding out on the lawn, and it was everything they could have ever imagined and more.
They had a more intimate wedding with just their closest friends and family, where they exchanged vows right by the water. What I loved about their whole wedding day was that they both absolutely lived in the moment the entire day. They were both so happy to be together and to be getting married and soaked up every single second. Their joy was always contagious, and their loved ones brought the same energy.
They opted for a more relaxed and classic vibe to their weddings with colors that complimented the ocean behind them, and it turned out so amazing. It was really important that their photos looked natural and not forced or posed, and that wasn’t hard to accomplish with them.
So many times, couples get caught up in the chaos of the day and everything that is going on that they forget to just breathe and be present. Samantha and Paul did not have this issue, and not only did it make their wedding day even more special, but it also resulted in genuine photos that show just how happy and in love they are.
You could also feel just how close they were to all of their family and friends. Samantha especially is very close to her mother — they have such a special relationship — and wore the same veil that her mother wore at her wedding, which added a sentimental and vintage feeling to her outfit.
Seeing each other before the ceremony was important to them, and it was such a special moment for the two of them. While Sam was a little nervous about it at first, it turned into an emotional moment that they got to share together before their wedding. You can just see how excited they are to see each other and how much they truly love each other. They were the literal definition of jumping for joy.
I love having a first look because it gives you and your partner time to be alone together (which doesn’t happen very much on your wedding day) and really let the moment sink in. You can laugh and joke and reminisce about your life so far and the new chapter you are about to begin. It also helps ease some of those wedding day nerves.
After saying “I do,” they kept the party going in the tent for the reception. Just like the ceremony location, the tent is right on the water, so not only are you in a beautiful space, eating amazing food, but you also have a gorgeous view of the water in the background.
There was so much shared love between them and their guests. Heartfelt toasts were given without a dry eye in the tent. There was later a dress change, and everyone brought the energy hard on the dance floor. What better way is there to celebrate a wedding than dancing?
If you are looking for a venue in Rhode Island or New England, Mount Hope Farm should definitely be on your list. The amazing location right on the water, combined with the beautiful ceremony and reception locations and the efforts by the team there to make your dream wedding a reality, make this venue a top pick in the area.
