I am so excited to get to know you more. I bring my whole self to this work, which includes my fight for equity and justice. I am not a photographer who separates my beliefs and passions from photographing humans because I don’t believe they’re separate. I can't ask you to be vulnerable if I'm not willing to do the same.
I have yet to witness anyone more visibly excited to get married than Brittney! The entire morning as she got ready at Union Bluff Hotel, she was absolutely giddy with excitement and grinning from ear to ear. Anyone that knows Brittney knows she’s the sweetest, happiest soul, and the anticipation of marrying Austin put her smiles into serious overdrive. Both getting ready rooms were packed with family and friends who are family, a big theme of the day, as these two families have known each other since before Brittney and Austin were born. In fact, instead of seeing each other before the ceremony, Brittney had a first look with her dad and shared a private drink.
Every moment of the day was filled with joy and such deep, deep love and admiration for this special couple. There was so much anticipation in the air throughout the whole day, but nothing compared to before Brittney walked down the aisle. She took a last minute bathroom break at the York Firehouse (a little something she’s known for!) before arriving at the church and seeing her brothers for the first time that day, who came running out to greet her. Brittney and Austin were married at the Star of the Sea Catholic Church in a beautiful ceremony. After the ceremony we headed over by trolley to Nubble Lighthouse for pictures and as luck would have it the rain had cleared! As we took their portraits, Austin kept staring at her and remarking how beautiful she was. The way these two love each other can’t quite be put into words.
Back at Union Bluff Meeting House for the reception, it was fully party mode! I remember Brittney saying that once she got to the reception she wasn’t going to stop dancing. Yes! My kind of bride! After their first dance, parent dances, and speeches that had everyone in stitches, Brittney’s brothers had a little surprise for her. They also shared a first dance, with each of them coming in at certain points during the song. I’ve never seen bigger smiles or felt the power of family more than this day. Congratulations Brittney and Austin! I hope you had an incredible time in Bermuda and welcome home!
