As part of a European tour that included England and Scotland, we also had the chance to spend a few days exploring the stunning Snowdonia National Park in northern Wales. Snowdonia is composed of breathtaking landscapes – rolling mountains and deep, lush valleys. The national park is obviously expansive, so we drove around parts of it, stopping to hop out of the car for vistas and little trails. We did a longer hike out along more of the “flatter” ground, getting caught in a wind whipping rain storm after the fog rolled in. One of the most unique part of Wales was the contrast between mountain and ocean. So much of Wales is bordered by ocean set against looming mountains. I loved all the competing landscapes found in such a small country!
