I’m so so so totally thrilled to finally be able to share this Italian inspired elopement featured on Wedding Chicks today that I collaborated on this past spring at the beautiful Willowdale Estate. It’s been super hard to keep quiet about it for so long! The idea and inspiration for this shoot originated from a vintage book of paintings and a box of deep blue candles I found at Home Goods. (Isn’t that the spot where all the best ideas begin?!) The book contains paintings detailing all of the plants, trees, flowers, and fruits of an estate in Maine. But the paintings have such an old world European feel to them that I began to dream of an Italian inspired shoot. One that told the story of a young couple that travels to Italy and elopes at their grandmother’s countryside estate. It was absolutely incredible seeing this vision come alive beyond my wildest dreams with the help of THE BEST creatives around! Kate Murtaugh completely ran with my idea and even managed to secure us a vintage red Vespa (which I still can’t get over!) and Rory Weinberg of Poppies worked her floral design maaaagic. The result is such a labor of love that I couldn’t be more proud of or more thankful I had the opportunity to collaborate on. Mille grazie (a thousand thanks) to everyone involved!
