I am so excited to get to know you more. I bring my whole self to this work, which includes my fight for equity and justice. I am not a photographer who separates my beliefs and passions from photographing humans because I don’t believe they’re separate. I can't ask you to be vulnerable if I'm not willing to do the same.

Ayeeshik + Nisha // Boston Public Garden Proposal // Boston Engagement Photographer
May 21, 2019
From the moment that Ayeeshik told me about his plan to fly into Boston and surprise his girlfriend Nisha with a proposal in the Boston Public Garden, I was so excited to capture her reaction. You see, Nisha would be in Boston visiting friends having a girl’s weekend, so Ayeeshik flying in from their hometown of Chicago was really a surprise! Ayeeshik and I arrived early and watched as Nisha’s friends convinced her to take a stroll through the gardens. As she rounded the corner and he came into view, you could tell it wasn’t registering that he was there. To say she was surprised would be an understatement. He got down on one knee, proposed to her, and she said yes. She immediately looked to her friends after, realizing everything had been part of the master plan. Her face was beaming, but she was also so much in shock, the full extent of the moment didn’t hit her until after. As we walked on through the garden with everyone, she was overcome with emotion. That moment, the tear sliding down her cheek, is one of my favorite images. To the unknowing, it’s a quiet image, and if you aren’t looking carefully, you might miss the tear. But to notice it, and know everything it stands for, is oh so powerful. It reminds me how much love can move us to our core. It also reminds me how lucky I am to document such intimate moments in the lives of my couples. It’s such a special honor. Congratulations Ayeeshik and Nisha! Wishing you all the love.
