I am so excited to get to know you more. I bring my whole self to this work, which includes my fight for equity and justice. I am not a photographer who separates my beliefs and passions from photographing humans because I don’t believe they’re separate. I can't ask you to be vulnerable if I'm not willing to do the same.

Chelsea + Richard // Cape Cod Engagement Session // Boston Engagement Photographer
May 28, 2019
Chelsea and Richard are getting married THIS weekend at the gorgeous Wequassett Resort and their engagement session is the story of how I almost lost my couple at sea. Almost. Although they live in Virginia now with their pup Penny, Chelsea is from the Cape and grew up here, so we decided to meet up for their engagement session there even though it was December! Brrrr! They were in town for the holidays and the forecast was somewhat mild so we seized the opportunity, despite it being winter on the ocean! Our first stop was going to be this great little clam shack on the harbor, but we completely forgot to account for, well, winter. The shack was definitely very much closed for the season, but luckily the docks weren’t. In one spot, I discovered this great spot where the docks tied together extending into the harbor. I stepped out, tested out that it was secure, and then had Chelsea and Richard walk out to the last one. We’re a few minutes in, and as I’m photographing I happen to look down on the corner of my dock and see that the rope on that side has come untied. The other side is quickly untying and if that side unties all the docks that all three of us are on will float away into the harbor. So, as calmly as I can, despite my rising panic, I tell them to walk back quickly because the dock is in fact untying. They made it back safely and we stuck to the sturdy docks from there on out. Lesson learned. We finished the session with a gorgeous sunset on Cold Storage Beach, and although the wind was whipping and Cape temps are no where close to Virginia temperatures, these two were serious troopers! Luckily their wedding forecast looks to be much warmer. Follow along on my Instagram this Saturday to see behind the scenes of their wedding day!
